DMGS has a special career consultant who works with each of us to find
our direction and passion. They don’t just send you to a job database.
-DMGS Student – Class of 2018
At Daniel Morgan Graduate School, we take your career as seriously as you do. For that reason, we don’t just refer our students to job databases or send them to career fairs. Instead, we have an experienced Career Consultant and Coach, Jackie Linde.
Jackie works closely with our students to provide services to help them to establish their careers. DMGS sees this as the final – and very important step – in completing the School’s mission to “prepare future leaders to develop actionable solutions to global and domestic security challenges”.
Students begin their career journey as soon as they arrive on campus as part of New Student Orientation. As part of the DMGS Professional Development Program, students will meet with Jackie to understand their aspirations, learn about their career options in national security. They will begin to set goals and will be encouraged to pursue internships throughout their graduate studies with a view toward obtaining valuable work experience and the security clearance required for future employment.
DMGS will continue to offer one on one career counseling throughout each semester and students can benefit from a series of workshops focusing on assessing and building their skills, strengths and careers goals.
As part of a Career Development Action Plan that will help them prepare for success in their chosen field, DMGS graduate students will receive highly personalized assistance throughout. This includes individual coaching, refining their resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles as well as honing their interview preparation and salary negotiation skills.
