Fundraising FAQs

Why donate now?

A gift to the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security Fund is the most comprehensive commitment you can make to DMGS and is necessary for the annual financial health of the school. It supports every student, professor, and program here. It provides the flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and to take advantage of new opportunities. It provides a “silent scholarship” to all students by keeping the tuition as low as possible.

How much should I donate?

At DMGS, we believe any size gift makes a difference. No matter the level, your gift will help secure the success of DMGS, its students, professors, and programs.

Can I donate through installments?

DMGS is thrilled to offer an online monthly giving option for our donors. Visit www.dmgs.org/get-involved/give to set up an automatic monthly commitment to the school. Most banks also offer electronic fund transfers that can be set up on an installment schedule.

What is DMGS’ history?

At DMGS, we take the business of security seriously. Our core mission is to educate and prepare future leaders to develop actionable solutions to global and domestic security challenges.  Today, more than ever, our mission is critical for the continued health and security of our nation.

Founded in 2014, DMGS is already establishing a reputation for excellence and leadership. Some of our key partners include: Cambridge University, Oxford University, the University of Virginia, George Washington University’s Center for Cyber and Homeland Security, the National Sheriff’s Association, Global Special Operations Forces Foundation, the National Bureau of Asian Research, and the Carnegie Endowment.

Faculty are professionals hailing from the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Council, the Department of Homeland Security, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)’s Security & Intelligence Directorate, to name just a few.

Who else is donating?

Funding for student aid, programming needs, and special projects comes from a variety of sources at DMGS. While some funding comes from corporations and foundations, many gifts come from individuals. When you make a gift to DMGS, you join alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff who all want to help fulfill the school’s mission.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

DMGS is a 501 (c) 3 organization and gifts to the school are 100% tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law. Any variation will be communicated to you in a timely manner.

How much of my donation will reach its intended destination?

Gifts given to DMGS are used exactly as the donor has intended.
