On September 19, 2018, the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security (DMGS) hosted a research workshop on the military and security implications of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The workshop was led by Nadège Rolland of the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) and convened leading experts from across the United States, Europe, and Asia to assess how infrastructure and investment activities implemented under the auspices of BRI will influence China’s military-security plans and posture. The workshop represented the half-way point in the research process of a two-year project directed by NBR and supported by DMGS.
